Here is the updated version. It's nice to start filling in details after blocking in color. I think when it's done the shadows will look really cool.

Edgar Casey framed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just framed this piece at work the other day. Now I have to catch my neighbor and give it to him. This is a frame that was built at another frame shop so we were just going to throw it away. I grabbed it and re cut it to fit Edgar here. It worked out nice.

Smaller painting?
I've
been working on this one. I've been blocking in some globs of color
before getting detailed aboot it. It's a smaller piece (16 x20), which
means less paint, but I feel better working big. Maybe I can get this
one under control quickly.

Drawing
I'm taking a bit of a rest before jumping in to the next one, but I have the drawing for it. I used to use only the model with Nature, but I'm starting to use more and more building and fences and stuff. The next piece will have buildings, roads and fences. Is it progress? Maybe.

Sleeping Prophet
I believe I'm done with this one. I titled it "Sleeping Prophet". Edgar Cayce was supposed to have healed a lot of people through his visions, but he also predicted "World" stuff. He also predicted things about the Egyptians and the Sphinx. I thought it'd be more fun for Rocky, my neighbor I'm doing this for. It's also a Color Pencil piece, and I do those pretty fast. And it was fun to do a piece the way I used to. Now back to my regular thing. Have fun!

Framed!!!!
I framed this piece with a really nice Gold frame. I've also added some touches to this painting, but I don't know if you can see them. I still need another pic. I also need to put up a pic of the Edgar Cadye piece. It's coming along pretty good. I "Predict" I will post that this week.Get it? Have fun!

Space!
This is a Color Pencil piece I did years ago titled Celestial Traveler. I still need to frame sometime. I did this in my Space Art phase. It was really fun, but after a few years, I said all I had to say as far as making Space Art went. I was once part of a Space Art group. They liked my work and juried me in. As time went by, I got hit by people who didn't liked that every star wasn't placed exactly how it should be in relation to certain Planets and things. Some of these people, as I found out, were scientist and former Astronauts. Really, Astronauts. Can't argue with them. So I quit the group and later stopped painting space. It's OK now, I'm having fun doing what I do now. But really, to knit pick over where stars should be in relation to Earth in a painting. Seems a little much.

Seeing the Future!!!
I'm still doing a few touch ups on the last painting, I'm not happy aboot the way it photographed. I'm also working on a commission for my neighbor Rocky. He's a big fan of Edgar Cayce, the Prophet from Hopkinsville KY. He was born in 1877 and died in 1945. It seems like IF there really are psychics, he was the big one. He would go into a trance and predict things, and tell people how to cure their sicknesses. He was also called the Sleeping Prophet. I'm not saying I believe it, but I'm not too quick to dismiss it either. I don't think he was ever proven a fraud, and he healed a lot of people. He was well known in his time. Read and judge for yourself, but it's an interesting story. I'm going Metaphysical on this one, it's been a while since I've done that. I gotta keep Rocky happy. Take care!

February Feilds
It's done, this is February Fields. I'm really pretty happy with it, but I can;t get a good pic of it. Sometimes that happens. I'm a better Painter than a Photographer. Anyway, Malissa posed on a hill top at Shakertown in a Cloudy/Sunny/Warm day in February thus the title. I was having some trouble with the grasses and I consulted with Malissa about how to fix my problems. She gave me some good advise. It always helps to ask for help, even if the person you ask doesn't do whatever you are doing. In getting deeply involved and using stiff concentration, sometimes we miss the obvious. So be sure to ask for help when you need it. Take care!

Shawnee Run Wins!
I haven't posted this yet, but I won another People's Choice award ribbon from the Art in the Highlands exhibit in Louisville. Shawnee Run is the painting. Kind of odd, my sales are down, but I've been winning more of these awards. I really appreciate though because there are lots of good Artist that participate in that exhibit.
