Latest Painting Finished
I just starting this blog to create more interest in my art and I will try to add new images and tell you about them two or three times a week. I will talk about the new as well as some of the old so you can see where I am now and where I have been artistically. Be sure to check in because I have a lot of art to talk about.
The painting beside this is titled Illumination of Anglin. In it is my friend of mine modeling at my favorite place, the Anglin Falls. It is south of Berea KY and a wonderful place. A lot of my current art work is inspired by this place and model.
The piece itself is a Color Pencil work. I did this on a very dark maroon mat board. I've heard it painting backwards to work on dark surfaces, but I like to bring the color out of the darkness. I guess that's just how my brain works. I use Acrylics too, but I am very fond of Color Pencil. The piece I used for my Kentucky theater poster, In Search of Totem, (see last entry) is Color pencil too and is a zoomed in version of this piece. Some of the rocks may seem the same. I enjoyed doing them a lot.
I hope you enjoyed this and it was not too long. Until we meet again!
