I can't get the photos of my current painting off my camera right now so I'll show another piece of Cliffs Art history. In one of my live nude drawing sessions in college I drew this guy, Phil. He was draped with a blanket. I tried to think of what to do, so instead I added angel wings. I used this image several times, but the last time was in this Color Pencil piece that sold at the Kentucky Theater years ago. I liked exploring the Spiritual and the Cosmic with Color Pencil and a good Figure Drawing. Orion has no meaningful reason for being there, I just liked it there. It was fun.

Back to the Woods!
I worked on this drawing while in Indianapolis
last weekend, and finished it tonight. I'm going back to the woods and
going to give the fields a bit of a break.

The Sky!!!
Yeah, here is some work on my Sky piece, masking tape and all. This from a panoramic pic I took of Malissa as the Sun was setting. It's looks stormy but it wasn't. Just a warm day in Febuary at Shakertown.

Charcoal!
Here is the new piece. I'm looking forward to this, it's a sky piece. I used to do lots of those, but not so much now. I also haven't worked in a panoramic style in a while. Hey that rhymes! This is a white charcoal drawing on a 16 by 40 inch canvas. Let the colors begin!!!!!!

Cliffs Art History
I was talking with a guy from a Gallery in Richmond two years ago, and he was pretty cool, but he told me he didn't want to show my paintings that were portraits because portraits didn't sell. This one, "Bewitchment", sold in Danville a short time later. He may be 100% right for what he has experienced, but I'm glad I've sold this and a few others. It's helps me from feeling limited in what I'm allowed to do. This has been another installment of Cliffsart History. Thank you all for tuning in.

New Drawing
I worked on this drawing today of Malissa. I think this will be for my next painting. It will be a panoramic kind of deal. I built the canvas for it tonight, I'm looking forward to it.

Short Legs?!
I decided her legs were too short so I lengthened them, and things looks better. Actually, I thought this and consulted with Malissa aboot it, and she agreed. It's great to have someone you can trust as a second pair of eyes. I worked over the landscape some, but it may be hard to tell. I've been real busy with life, but I think this one will be done soon.

Big Field!!!!!!!!!
Still working on this one, but I haven't' got much accomplished. Actually I painted the whole field and was unhappy with it so this is a second try. It's more where I want to take this but I need to blend her in more with the landscape. I also need to add some detail to the trees in the upper left. Ive also been on the road a lot this weekend delivering paintings to Warsaw Ky and Louisville. Hope everyone got out in the good weather this weekend, it's been really nice. Everyone take care and have fun!
