New Painting

Hey, I'm working on a new painting that I haven't titled yet(I think I usually have a title idea at this point at least) of a model on the ground. I have done some, but not much work where there is no sky at all, and only ground. I'm looking forward to this one a lot.
I photographed this model last weekend, and she is awesome. She had modeled earlier Sunday for a few hours in a drawing class, then rode with me and hiked for a good spell to model. You hear a lot about the artists, but not much about the models and others who help them live out their dream. In the future I may do a blog about the models I use.
And that's not to forget my wife who does so much I can't tell you. At times she had modeled. She introduced me to a great model and friend, and has helped me with all things computer. So remember if you are looking at mine, or someone else's art, even people like Pino and Christian Lasen, they are getting lots of help to do what they love and they ( or I should say we) are very blessed.

Among Giants now on Ebay

Well, I just put Among the Giants on Ebay http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZmalissa0
I have been working on a series of smaller paintings for this purpose. Most of my paintings would cost a lot for shipping because I like to work big, both in painting and color pencil work. Actually for me, it's not the landscape, but the figure is hard to do this small. She's probably about 3 inches tall. But I'm happy with this one and hopefully some Ebay buyers will too. I have a new painting for the blog. I may do it tomorrow night or Friday. I have yet to get a good photo and I need sunlight. Everyone take care and have fun!

They like me! They really really like me!

Hey all! Well, I submitted for a exhibition with the Color Pencil Society of America and made it in. You can see the website and all the artists who were accepted at http://www.cpsa.org/
I'm stoked about it, and glad they let me in! I had a lot of rejections in the past so I haven't even done anything like this in a while. It's good to be liked. The accepted piece above is Awaiting the Sign. You seen me work this piece out step by step on this blog. If you didn't see it, you can go one page back on older post at the bottom of the page and see it. It's neat to bring it back to the blog to announce some success. Everyone, take care and have fun!

The Ebay Stuff

Well, it took me a while but I put some of my prints on Ebay to see how they will do. So far I have Raven's Home, Haunting of Anglin, and In Search of the Totem out there. These are prints, and two of the original paintings are currently hanging at the Gladie center at the Red River Gorge. You may have trouble finding them on Ebay so here is the link http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZmalissa0

Everyone take care and have fun!

Current work

Hey there. I thought I'd just show what I am currently working on. At the top you see the painting I'm working on, you can see the drawn, but not yet painted girl by the tree. This is coming together pretty well and I'm having fun with it.
The bottom painting is actually a re-working of the color pencil piece I posted on March 30th. It was just one of those pieces where it didn't look that good. I was following the colors of the photo, it didn't work right, so I just used colors out of my imagination, and it still didn't work out. I decided to try it as a painting and I was happier with it. I wasn't sure about the owl though. I was trying to keep a mystical feel to the piece, I thought it might help.
Once during a full moon, or close to full, I was sitting in my yard and an owl came and sat about 3 or 4 feet away from me. A friend of mine told me there was probably something spiritual or mystical happening. I don't know, but it was pretty cool. Either way, this piece isn't fully done yet, you can still see some of my pencil marks, but I'm close. Just thought I'd show it. Everyone take care and have fun!

Gladie exhibit

Hey everyone. Well, today I put up the exhibit in the Gladie Center in the Red River gorge. I've sold some paintings there in the past so here's hoping 08 will bring good news for me. Now you may wonder about the square blob in the center. I didn't know until I got there that they have bolted in a huge photo of some sundown somewhere. It's a nice photo, but I had to work around it and didn't think I should put it on the blog. The photographer might get angry and I couldn't blame him or her. I didn't look who did it. Actually, I was surprised I got all my work up.
I went for a 2 and one half hour hike after hanging this. I went to the Rock Bridge, for those who know what and where it is. For those who don't, I added the photos above. I paint nature so I like to keep in touch with it. I might paint the top photo.
I'd like to also mention, that I have been forgetting to put my website and email in case anyone wants to drop me a line, so I'm going to start putting those at the end of all my posts. I'm still getting used to this thing called blogging, so please excuse my lack of computer savvy. Everyone take care and talk to you soon.

Hey everyone

Wow, it's been a while. I've been busy with some things, sorry. I have been selling some prints. There was an Art Walk in Paris KY April 11th. I sold some prints I had made from the pics above. From top to bottom is The Haunting of Anglin, The Moon above Anglin Falls, and Raven's Home. I'm working on getting an Ebay store to make these available for sell. I'm also working on some smaller paintings for Ebay. The smaller the easier to ship. I have some other news for later in the week, and I'll say more about the Ebay thing soon. Take care and have fun everyone!
