They like me! They really really like me!

Hey all! Well, I submitted for a exhibition with the Color Pencil Society of America and made it in. You can see the website and all the artists who were accepted at http://www.cpsa.org/
I'm stoked about it, and glad they let me in! I had a lot of rejections in the past so I haven't even done anything like this in a while. It's good to be liked. The accepted piece above is Awaiting the Sign. You seen me work this piece out step by step on this blog. If you didn't see it, you can go one page back on older post at the bottom of the page and see it. It's neat to bring it back to the blog to announce some success. Everyone, take care and have fun!

Awaiting the Sign Finished

I thought I'd show this one, I finished it the other day. Earlier I had shown the process of drawing it, and how I apply that drawing to the drawing surface. I gave it the name Awaiting the Sign. I have always been intrigued at the thought of going to nature for guidance, or some may say mental clarity. I think you can get both. I have done it several times, when being down or even when making career decisions. Nature often brings peace and clarity, and exercise so think about that next time you are on a hike and enjoy yourself. Take care and have fun!

Newest work

Hey there again. Here are some pics of my new work. I started by drawing the model, you can see the drawing on the top. Then I drew, with a drawn white grid, the landscape. I traced my drawing with some tracing paper and transfered it to the mat board. Then I filled in some color. This was a little intimidating for me because of the perspective of the hill in the background. In the actual photo, you can barely make it out through all the leaves, but you still can. I wasn't sure how to explain that in the drawing. I think I figured it out, but I still have to think how many leaves if any I will put in. It may seem that I always do similar paintings, but I do try to do something new or challenging with every one. Helps make one better. Hope everyone is well, I hope to update this very soon. Take care and have fun!
